Rev. Orsella Renea Hughes

Rev. Orsella Renea Hughes is a dedicated Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, currently leading Saint Luke A.M.E. Church in Harlem, NY. Her journey has spanned multiple communities, including roles as Pastor at Allen Chapel in Hartford, CT, and Saint James in Danbury, CT, where she left a lasting impact through her compassionate leadership.

Beyond her pastoral work, Rev. Hughes has served in various leadership roles, from Christian Education Director to Youth Minister. Her commitment extends from the New England Annual Conference to now, the New York Annual Conference, where she actively participats on various
committees, including the A.M.E. Women in Ministry.

An entrepreneur at heart, Rev. Hughes co-founded The Prosperity Foundation, a trailblazing Connecticut organization supporting Black-led nonprofits. She also led as Executive Business Manager for Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, launching innovative programs that transformed service and grief counseling.

As the founder of Serenity Ceremonies by Rev, Orsella, she crafts unique, story-driven wedding
ceremonies, recognized by publications like Brides Magazine, Munaluchi Bridal, and The Knot.
Rev. Hughes’s devotion to education and community shines through her academic achievements and her engagement with organizations such as the Metro Manhattan Chapter of the Links, Inc.
