Shadura Lee

Organizer

Shadura Lee is a community organizer in Trenton, NJ. She attended Trenton Central High school and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in Public Policy and American Institutions from Brown University. After earning her BA, she joined Teach for America in New Orleans, Louisiana. There, she taught for two years and earned her teaching certification through the New Teacher’s Program. After teaching in New Orleans, she returned home to teach Reading in Trenton at a public middle school. There, she taught for four years.  


Currently, she works at Salvation and Social Justice as an organizer in Trenton where she leads work in race and education equity. In this work, Shadura engages with people that are directly impacted by inequitable policies and practices. Thus, she gathers people to talk about their experiences and perspectives on injustice. Deep canvassing and listening is key to her role as an organizer. Lastly, she is enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania where she will earn her master's degree in Social Policy and Practice.
